Three Angel's Message - Revelation 14

                  Message  of  the  First  Angel

Revelation 14:6   And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
Verse 7:   Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

To "fly in the midst of heaven" implies a global message that goes to all the world.
We see in Revelation 13 that Satan makes this war a worldwide conflict, and God answers with a worldwide message to every nation, kindred, tongue and people.

"everlasting gospel"  is the good news about Jesus see Romans 1: 16

The angel told Mary in Matthew 1: 21  that her son "shall save his people from their sins" - So what is sin?  According the I John 3: 4  "sin is the transgression of the law"   and we know that the wages of sin is death  Romans 6: 23.  Therefore the good news about Jesus is life saving.

Jesus is able to save to the utmost - Hebrews 7: 25
Question:  Who can be saved?  Answer: As many as recieve him John 1:12  and Revelation 22: 17 says, "Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely."
Question:  When?   Answer:   Now   II Corinthians 6: 2
Question:  What?    Answer:   Believe in Jesus   Acts 16: 31

"Fear God"  means to obey and honor him.  Deuteronomy 6:2  and Ecclesiastes 12: 13  "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments for this is the whole duty of man."

"and give glory to Him"  We give glory to the Lord by showing his character.

Moses asked God "I beseech thee, show me thy glory" Exodus 33: 18  The Lord answered, "I will make all my goodness pass before thee and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee."  Exodus 33: 19.   The Lord proclaimed His name in Exodus 34: 5 - 7 and described His character to Moses on the Mountain. We give glory to God by showing his character. Let your name be glorified. Christ in me the hope of glory.

"for the hour of his judgment is come"  Notice the tense the hour is come, This reveals the time of the message and the time of the judgment.

  • The first angel’s message of Revelation 14, announcing the hour of God’s judgment and calling upon men to fear and worship Him, was designed to separate the professed people of God from the corrupting influences of the world and to arouse them to see their true condition of worldliness and backsliding.  In this message, God has sent to the church a warning, which, had it been accepted, would have corrected the evils that were shutting them away from Him. Had they received the message from heaven, humbling their hearts before the Lord and seeking in sincerity a preparation to stand in His presence, the Spirit and power of God would have been manifested among them. The church would again have reached that blessed state of unity, faith, and love which existed in apostolic days, when the believers “were of one heart and of one soul,” and “spake the word of God with boldness,” when “the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.” Acts 4:32, 31; 2:47.  Great Controversy, page 379.1   Read entire Chapter 21

              Message  of  the  Third  Angel

Revelation  14:9   And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
14:10   The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
14:11   And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
14:12   Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
